Near-Home Job Placements
A final potential option in New Road’s Career Program is a Near-Home Job Placement, one that correlates to the student’s On-Campus and/or Off-Campus Internship. Near-Home Internships are offered in partnership with the student's local school district and must be appropriate and approved by the school district for each individual student. This phase entails a multi-day placement in a business close to the student’s home to aid scheduling and proximity issues. Near-Home Job Placements help students make a seamless transition to gainful employment upon graduation from the New Road School of Somerset. All near-home internships are set up in the student’s area of residence and transportation may be provided by the sending school district.
