Somerset’s Annual Fashion Show

It won’t be long now before you will see someone from New Road School of Somerset as a winner on America’s Top Model. Since the inception of our “Passion for Fashion” three years ago, our fashion show has grown in professionalism and couture pizzazz.
This year we held our Annual Fashion Show on April 17, 2007. This year’s show had a Hollywood inspired theme. Twenty five students on gold level, six staff members and four staff children volunteered to model clothes from J.C. Penny. Professional lighting was provided by School Bus Productions as Mrs. Andrea Kornbluth added colorful commentaries.
Mary Kay, UFO Salon and parents from our Parent Advisory Committee volunteered their time to help our models to look and feel beautiful. Our parent volunteers also helped serve snacks and refreshments after the show. Over four hundred dollars was raised for our Student Scholarship Fund. A feeling of excitement electrified the models as well as the audience of family and friends.
There is a wealth of self-esteem gained by a student walking the fashion runway that cannot adequately be described in words. It’s a feeling of a dream come true and the glow of being a shining star for a moment in time.
