“Moving on – a graduation event”

On June 8, 2007 the New Road School of Parlin held its “Moving On” ceremony for 22 of its students. The anticipation of this day was felt throughout the school in the weeks leading up to the big day with graduation gowns being ordered, invitations being made and speeches being prepared by staff and students alike. Mrs. Carol Padgitt was the first to welcome parents and relatives of our graduates followed by our guest speaker, Dr. Michael Kaufman, who presented the graduates with the Dr. Seuss book “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”.
Teachers of our graduating students, together with Mrs. Padgitt, had the honor of presenting each student with a certificate of achievement as well as a hug and a pat on the back for all of their hard work and effort. Jonathan M. was chosen to be the graduate speaker for the class of 2007. During his speech, Jonathan spoke of all the wonderful teachers, teacher assistants and therapists he has come to know and love at school. A special award was presented to Mrs. Mary Bain, a parent of two students at the New Road School of Parlin, for all of her involvement and dedication to our program.
Our celebration ended with a tasty luncheon for all of our graduates and their families.
